HHOTec bring their scam from the USA to the UK
HHO Tec’s website has improved massively since I last saw it, and so has the sophistication and language used, but it is all risible nonsense, all bullshit dressed up as science, all a complete scam, con men after your money while pretending to be trying to save you cash and the environment at the same time.
They guarantee to improve your vehicle’s mileage performance by 22% using a system which has been show to not work, a “Platinum Fuel Saver”. The American version of the Environment Agency, the EPA, wrote a report ( read it here ) on Platinum-based combustion enhancers back in 1991, the conclusion was that the device had no significant effect on either economy or emissions. Following this testing in 2002 the company in question were fined $75,000 for making false claims, they subsequently lost their 2004 appeal too.
If you still think it may be worth trying one answer me these questions;
- where is this extra 22% of energy coming from
- why has this “technology” not been picked up by any government or car manufacturer?
The answer to the first question is that there is nowhere for the energy to come from, there is no extra energy, engines burn upwards of 98% of their fuel so the maximum possible improvement would be only 1% or 2%, and that is assuming it worked which it does not.
The answer to the second is that it is such obvious claptrap that no one with any science education will touch preposterous pseudo-science like this with a barge pole, anyone who knows what they are talking about knows this is a scam.
HHOTec in the US is Trevor Hunter.
Stephen Chandler of Cardiff and Carl Ward of Swansea are the poor saps who are selling this crap in the UK.
I note the Act On Co2 logo on the UK site too, so I have contacted them to ask them what they think they are doing.
I have also contacted Trading Standards, see if we can’t get these guys shut down. You see in the USA you can pretty much sell any old crap with any old lie but in the UK you have to be able to prove what you are saying or you get shut down, fined and even jailed.
Trevor Hunter:
We have responded to Jons statements on this post http://www.eco-scams.com/archives/644#comment-7693
